The Kasozi Community Children’s Clinic is nearing completion! The construction crew is finishing various outbuildings (kitchen, pit latrines, guardhouse) and leveling the site. Painting is going on now. Cassia Wagner our Project Manager and Beckie Bagby our Clinic Director have been sorting through applications, meeting local leaders, interviewing candidates, and getting a handle on supplies and equipment in preparation for our grand opening. All this is possible because of your generous gifts!
Karl Zinsmeister in “The Philanthropy of the Little Guys” wrote, “It’s the inexorable giving by humble Americans that constitutes the main branch of U.S. Philanthropy.”
For example, “Anne Scheiber was a shy auditor who retired in 1944 with just $5,000 in the bank. Through frugal living and inspired stock picking, she turned this into $22 million by the time she passed away in 1995 at the age of 101. She left it all to Yeshiva University so that bright but needy girls could attend college and medical school.”
Donations both large and small have made this medical clinic possible in an area where 25% of children do not live past the age of 15, and there is only one doctor for every 10,000 people. Our clinic will be offering care to children for many treatable injuries and illnesses.
Theclinic will have ongoing expenses, and so donations are appreciated. Please designate your gift “Medical Clinic” accordingly.
